CNS takes the health, safety and welfare of its employees and clients very seriously, especially when working on clients’ sites. Every contract undertaken by us is reviewed and the best working practices determined along with an assessment of the risks associated with the work. These practices and assessments are agreed with the client prior to any works commencing. The CNS team are all trained and competent in the use of the equipment required for the work. In addition to all this, we use the services of an independent Health & Safety Practitioner, Peninsula, to ensure we remain aware of changes in legislation and, through the use of site audits, ensure our standards remain consistently high. We are always happy to discuss any aspect of our approach to ensuring a contract runs smoothly, efficiently and safely.

Building Confidence

CNS are proud to announce we have been awarded the prestigious Building Confidence supply chain accreditation from Achilles, after successfully completing the online PQQ and onsite one day audit. Achilles is one of the UK’s leading independent accreditation bodies for supply chain management within the Construction industry.

Achieving the accreditation reaffirms CNS’s dedication to providing without compromise, quality services, compliance and commitment to our customers increasing demands regarding health and safety, environmental and corporate governance. Working in partnership with Bovis Lend Lease, Achilles developed BuildingConfidence as a supplier pre-qualification and accreditation service that is rapidly becoming recognised as the standard for supplier excellence within the UK construction industry.

Many major contractors use the service to evaluate their supply chains, raise performance and build longer lasting relationships with key suppliers. The accreditation demonstrates that suppliers like CNS are taking a proactive approach to continuous improvement within areas of their business such as health and safety, corporate social responsibility, environmental practices, sustainability, quality and finance which are fully assessed and audited annually to provide customers with benchmarked performance criteria.

CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

Our staff have completed Health & Safety Tests to gain their CSCS Cards. A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is a way to prove that our staff are competent in their occupation and have health and safety awareness, and can be used as instant identification when they arrive on site. Major clients are requesting that their contractors have a CSCS carded workforce.

IPAF (International Powered Access Federation)

Our staff have completed training to gain IPAF PAL Licence Cards, which enables us to promote the use of safe working practices in the operation of mobile elevating work platforms and thereby make a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents. There is increasing legislation covering the operators of powered access equipment. But apart from EC Directives and Health & Safety legislation, there are also the growing demands of our customers that all of their suppliers meet accepted quality and safety standards.
