In January 2010 CNS were contracted to upgrade the Voice Network between 3 Blackburn offices in order to eliminate the old expensive links between sites. The Manchester, Leeds and Chorley offices were subsequently added to provide a cost effective solution with inbuilt resilience.

The geographically dispersed nature of the offices presents its own communication challenges, however the investment in the Mitel solution allows the convergence of Voice and Data across the Wide Area Network to drive out costs and improve connectivity.

A linked numbering scheme allows desk to desk dialling and makes all sites appear as a single entity, enhancing collaboration and cohesion between employees. The Hot Desking facility with the Mitel IP Handsets provides the flexibility for users to log onto a handset at remote offices and take calls as if they were sat at their own desk. The Mitel Teleworker solution extends this facility to the home by allowing extension users to take calls on an IP Handset at home via the Internet just as if they were in the office.
