Corporate Social Responsibility

CNS is committed to living its values and everybody who comes into contact with our business should benefit from those values. Given that we deal with businesses with large numbers of employees on a day to day basis that’s a lot of people.

Community

CNS believes in making contributions to our local communities and has recently purchased hula hoops for St Marys School in Burnley and has sponsored football teams in Accrington, Altrincham and Bury.

CNS has also made charitable donations to Help the Hero’s amongst others.

People

CNS operates a payroll giving scheme to its employees, this allows them to make regular payments to charity directly from their salary

Environmental & Sustainability

Businesses can have a huge impact on the environment. By reducing the volume of wasted paper, increasing recycling opportunities across both sites and getting our people to think green both in and outside of the workplace, we are working towards minimising our carbon footprint and theirs alike
CNS‘s Environmental policy involves all staff and service users and seeks to:-

  • Recognise that the minimum acceptable level of environmental performance laid down by legislation
  • Provide environmental training for all staff, promote general awareness of the environmental policy to all staff and service users and encourage individual good practice
  • Support where practicable, the use of products and services of suppliers whose own environmental policies are in accordance with CNS policies.
  • Monitor and audit our environmental policy and practice.
  • Promote energy efficiency and responsible energy management
  • Promote waste minimisation and reduce the environmental impact of waste through recycling at every opportunity

Eco-friendly partners

We are currently engaged with one of our customers on the dCarbon Northwest Initiative, this involves 30 other Northwest organisations and allows us to understand and encourage sustainable business practices throughout our supply chain. The dCarbon Northwest Initiative allows organisations to assess its carbon management and provides recommendations for action where relevant.
